Are you a dedicated laboratory professional with expertise in microbial testing, R&D support, and quality assurance? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented R&D Microbiologist to join their active microbiology laboratory team. In this key role, you will perform essential testing across raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing environments to support both commercial and development pipelines. As an R&D Microbiologist, your daily work will directly safeguard product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
A Day in the Life as an R&D Microbiologist:

Your core duties will include:
•Performing microbiological testing on raw materials, bulk batches, packaged finished goods, and purified water systems.
•Conducting routine environmental monitoring of manufacturing, packaging, and compressed air systems (water, surfaces, air).
•Participating in problem-solving investigations regarding microbial contamination and microorganism identification.
•Preparing media, conducting growth support and sterility control testing, and sterilizing laboratory equipment.
•Assisting in the validation of sanitization procedures and supporting operator training on microbial contamination prevention.
•Maintaining laboratory supplies, equipment verification/calibration, and proper biohazardous waste disposal.

•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a College Diploma (DEC) in Microbiology combined with significant practical experience.
•Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.
•Language Skills: Bilingualism in French and English to communicate with team members and interpret technical client documentation.
•Key Skills: Self-motivation, attention to detail, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
