Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and CWB welding symbols
• Fit, tack, and weld components using MIG (70%), TIG (25%), and Stick (5%)
• Pre-heat mild and high-carbon steel materials (1/8" to 3.5" thick)
• Perform custom layout, fabrication, and precision fitting using calipers and squares
• Operate saws, manual mills, hoists, and cutting equipment (Arc-Air/OAC)
• Inspect finished welds against engineering quality and structural standards
• Perform basic equipment maintenance, area upkeep, and inventory tracking
Qualifications
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on MIG (GMAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding and metal fabrication in a manufacturing environment (3–5 years preferred).
• Certifications: Current CWB certification or the ability to pass an on-site CWB-level structural quality test (expired tickets accepted).
• Technical Skills: Advanced blueprint reading, welding symbols, and precision measurement (calipers, micrometers, layout tools).
• Machining & Quality: Mechanical aptitude for custom machinery assembly, familiarity with manual shop equipment (saws, mills), and strict adherence to visual weld inspection standards.
