Responsibilities
Transaction Processing (80%): Pre-screen, prepare, and process all financial and non-financial transactions prior to daily cut-off times, including account set-ups, address/investor updates, purchases, redemptions, switches, non-complex NIGOs, and trade/wire orders. Manage daily trade reconciliation, settlements, deposits, and cheque processes.
Workflow & Issue Resolution (10%): Monitor and clear workflow items in accordance with SLAs. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve escalated client inquiries or transaction discrepancies in collaboration with internal departments and mid-level external client groups.
Quality Control & Special Projects (10%): Perform transaction audits, apply quality control standards, and flag accounts with unusual activity. Assist management with updating Desk Operating Procedures, debugging applications/macros, and driving process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, with demonstrated capability to run and debug applications and macros (MS Office suite).
Operational Skills: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; proven track record of multitasking and working under tight deadlines in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Communication & Service: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong customer service orientation for internal and external partner interaction.
Flexibility: Willingness and availability to work extended hours during peak operational periods (such as RRSP season, month-end, and year-end).
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
Industry Experience: Background in financial services, specifically within Mutual Fund and Segregated Funds administration, tax compliance, and Registered Products.
Certifications: Completion of the IFIC Mutual Funds Operations Course is highly preferred.
System Expertise: Hands-on experience with the Unitrax Recordkeeping System and FundSERV network.
Language Skills: Functional ability to read and write in French is considered a strong asset.
