Responsibilities
-Asset Evolution: Contribute to the initial design phase and conceptual framework for new capital equipment.
-Viability Analysis: Evaluate incoming project specifications and perform comprehensive technical feasibility studies.
-Operational Health Oversight: Facilitate systematic evaluations of equipment groups to ensure peak operational readiness.
-Special Project Logistics: Direct technical support and oversight for complex, non-routine equipment decommissioning or storage.
-Off-Season Infrastructure Management: Oversee large-scale structural repairs and maintenance cycles during scheduled downtimes.
-Protective Systems Maintenance: Manage the upkeep and scheduling for specialized internal structural coatings and linings.
-Agile Technical Response: Provide real-time troubleshooting and engineering support for remote field operations.
-Technical Modeling: Utilize advanced CAD and specialized engineering software to develop precise architectural schematics.
-Analytical Synthesis: Interpret complex data sets and experimental results to inform engineering decisions.
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
-Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a related position. Open to candidates coming out of university from a Naval Architecture program.
-Advanced knowledge and understanding of the Great Lakes Seaway System is an asset.
-Proficient with AutoCAD 2D, Rhino 3D, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
-Able to create and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
-Capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner.
-Ability to analyze and interpret technical information and drawings.
