Responsibilities
Migration Strategy & Planning: Conduct pre-migration usage assessments, design content mapping strategies, define file cleanup/reorganization frameworks, and establish step-by-step migration execution guidelines.
OpenText to SharePoint Migration Execution: Lead the full-fidelity migration of legacy content repositories to SharePoint Online, ensuring original creation/modification dates, author attributes, custom categories, and complex permission models are preserved.
Technical Issue Resolution & Workaround Engineering: Identify and resolve migration bottlenecks, including deep folder hierarchies, unsupported special characters, custom Content Server workflows, script constraints, and large list limitations.
Data Governance & Redirection: Implement URL redirection services for legacy document links, establish site/library standardization, and enforce data governance protocols across modern SharePoint environments.
Audit & Immutable Backup Management: Design, configure, and produce immutable Content Server backups with full version history to enable point-in-time data restoration for audit compliance post-decommissioning.
SharePoint Architecture & Workflow Design: Design, build, and configure modern SharePoint sites, user access groups, custom business workflows, and automated migration scripts.
Platform Administration & Operational Support: Provide hands-on administration, user management, site configuration, and tier-3 technical support across both OpenText Content Server and SharePoint platforms.
Operational Transition & Warranty Support: Deliver post-migration warranty support to ensure business continuity, resolve operational defects, and transition completed sites to long-term IT operations teams.
Qualifications
Dual Platform Seniority: 5–10 years of technical experience in SharePoint administration and migration, paired with 5–10 years of experience in OpenText Content Server administration and operational support (Strictly Required).
OpenText Content Server Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Content Server folder structures, attributes/categories, metadata mapping, permissions, custom workflows, and data extraction techniques (Strictly Required).
Native Platform Migration Mastery: Intensive experience leading enterprise-level SharePoint migrations directly from OpenText Content Server, including handling long paths, special characters, full-fidelity metadata preservation, and URL redirection (Strictly Required).
Pre-Migration Strategy & Standardization: Demonstrated track record in pre-migration planning, library model standardization, content reorganization, and mapping metadata/permissions to SharePoint managed metadata (Strictly Required).
Audit Compliance & Immutable Backups: Proven ability to create immutable Content Server backups with version history for post-decommissioning audit compliance and data restoration (Strictly Required).
