Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide broad operational and processing support, primarily focusing on back-office tasks within the Benefits unit. Key responsibilities include:
Case Management & Resolution: Reviewing and analyzing incoming benefits cases and escalations from the employee call center to identify root causes of issues.
Data Processing: Accurately updating and processing essential employee information, such as beneficiary forms (often received via mail).
Benefits Support: Providing dedicated operational support for beneficiaries, retirees, and all aspects of the annual benefit enrollment period (which may require occasional overtime).
Operational Effectiveness: Performing general and specialized transactions, ensuring all required processing and inquiries meet established Service Level Goals (SLGs) and customer experience targets.
Compliance & Risk: Adhering to strict deadlines, bank/service center operating policies, and procedures, and proactively identifying and escalating areas of risk.
Process Improvement: Actively suggesting and participating in process improvements to support satisfactory audits and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience (a background in benefits or insurance is a strong asset).
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency: Competency with MS Applications, particularly Word and Excel.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional Attention to Detail (crucial for accurate data processing).
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a resolution-oriented approach.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proven ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and also function effectively as a team player.
Education: High school diploma.
Nice-to-Have Assets
Experience in Payroll or Accounting, especially with reconciliation tasks.
Prior experience in a Banking or financial services environment.
