Responsibilities
As an Operations Officer, your day-to-day work will be primarily back-office data processing and verification, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Data Review & Remediation: Conduct rapid reviews (15-20 min) of data discrepancy/incompleteness alerts triggered by system functionality.
Data Entry & Verification: Read source documents (e.g., system records, physical documents) and accurately enter, compile, sort, and verify data into specific fields on reporting systems.
Error Management: Locate and correct data entry errors, or report issues to supervisors/partners within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Stakeholder Interaction: Proactively communicate with internal business partners via email to request missing data and follow up to ensure it is provided and accurately entered.
Regulatory Compliance: Act as a key resource on EFTR regulatory reporting, ensuring all reports are filed in accordance with external requirements.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the identification and implementation of new processes and operational efficiencies within the team.
Qualifications
Must-Have Hard Skills
Experience: 1-2+ years of recent experience in one or more of the following: AML operations, data entry/enrichment, regulatory reporting, Client Onboarding/KYC, and/or payments transaction processing.
Industry Knowledge: Previous corporate or financial industry experience (banking experience, including international, is an asset).
Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer application skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong ability to quickly learn and navigate internal banking systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education: Secondary Education / High School Diploma (minimum requirement).
Knowledge: Existing foundational knowledge of EFTR Reporting (FINTRAC Canada) and experience with AML Regulatory reporting and processing.
Skills: Demonstrated experience in an operations or processing role with a focus on data management (error identification, enrichment, and remediation).
Soft Skills
Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy is crucial for success.
Self-Driven: Motivated to work independently, manage one's own workload, and learn quickly in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Team Player: Able to work independently while also effectively collaborating within a team of 65 people.
