As an Operations Officer II, you will manage the end-to-end processing of commercial deposit accounts. Your primary focus will be on opening new accounts, managing signing authority changes, and ensuring all documentation aligns with strict banking compliance and AML standards. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to meeting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will play a critical role in the commercial account lifecycle, ensuring that all legal and regulatory requirements are met while providing seamless support to internal partners.
Duration: 1 Year (Extension/Conversion possible)
Location: Markham, Ontario
Work Format: Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote alternating bi-weekly between Monday and Friday).
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Occasional overtime may be required).
Pay Rate: $23.13 per hour.

Responsibilities
Account Management: Open new commercial deposit accounts and additional accounts via Letters of Direction.
Documentation Review: Obtain, compile, and meticulously check supporting documents to ensure they meet legal, regulatory, and AML compliance standards.
Request Processing: Execute account change requests for existing commercial clients, including updates to signing authorities.
Queue Management: Monitor and manage incoming work queues to ensure timely processing and adherence to team benchmarks.
Collaboration: Attend team meetings and use MS Teams to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and partners.
Risk Mitigation: Review and interpret complex legal documents to minimize risk and ensure operational integrity.
Qualifications
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in administrative or operational roles (previous experience as an Operations Officer is highly preferred).
Education: High School Diploma required; Post-Secondary education is considered a strong asset.
Technical Skills: * Proficient in MS Office Suite (Basic Excel knowledge required).
Fast and accurate typing skills (minimum 60–65 wpm).
Comfortable learning new host applications and banking systems.
Compliance Knowledge: Basic understanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) compliance.
Soft Skills: * Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage high volumes of work.
