Order Picker

Working as an Order Picker in food warehousing requires physical stamina, precision, and efficiency. In this role, you will operate during night hours starting at 8:00 PM until daily quota completion. This position involves working in a cold environment (refrigerated/freezer settings) to maintain product freshness and quality. Because this location is not accessible by public transit/bus route, reliable personal transportation is required to ensure consistent attendance for all scheduled shifts.

As a primary Order Picker, your core duties involve reviewing detailed paper pick sheets, navigating warehouse aisles, manually retrieving food inventory, and carefully packing products onto shipping pallets. Physical effort is a daily component of this role, as you will routinely lift, push, and stack boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. Maintaining high standards of accuracy, speed, and safety while handling palletized goods is critical to success in this environment.

Responsibilities
• Accurately read, review, and follow daily order pick sheets to locate specific food inventory within the facility.
• Pick, sort, and securely pack food products according to customer and order specifications.
• Stack and palletize completed orders safely and prepare them for final transport.
• Lift, carry, and maneuver boxes and crates weighing up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift.
• Perform duties efficiently within a cold warehousing/refrigerated environment.
• Conduct routine inventory checks and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, occupational standards, and facility sanitation procedures.
• Maintain open communication with shift supervisors and warehouse personnel to achieve production targets.

Qualifications
• Strong command of the English language (must read, write, and speak fluent English).
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout an 8-hour+ shift.
• Ability to work comfortably in a cold/refrigerated storage environment.
• Must own CSA-approved safety boots.
• Must have reliable personal transportation (facility is NOT located on a public bus route).
• Full flexibility to work night shifts starting at 8:00 PM (schedule varies over 5 nights, excluding Saturdays).
• Legal authorization to work full-time hours in Canada.
• Strong reading comprehension and written English skills to accurately process pick sheets and labels.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and attention to detail.
• High level of physical endurance and strength for continuous manual material handling.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy during late-night hours.
• Effective time-management skills to ensure orders are completed accurately before shift end.
• Strong workplace safety awareness and teamwork skills.
