Responsibilities
Business Development: Actively engage in cold calling and strategic networking to secure new clients, particularly within the oilfield and construction industries.
Client Management: Effectively manage and nurture your existing, proven customer base and seamlessly integrate new clients.
Full Cycle Sales & Dispatching: Handle the entire process from securing the client to managing the shipment, including hands-on dispatching duties once a client is secured.
Geographic Expansion: Focus initial sales efforts across Alberta and Saskatchewan, with a view to expanding across Canada, including areas like Grande Prairie.
Operational Insight: Utilize knowledge of trucking/hauling, specialized equipment and logistics to offer clients cost-effective and timely solutions.
Reporting: Maintain organized records and activity using spreadsheets.
Qualifications
Proven Sales Expertise: Significant experience (14+ months preferred) in trucking sales, logistics, or oilfield equipment hauling, demonstrating a history of high-volume calling and closing new business.
Established Customer Base: Ability to bring a proven, active book of business to the role.
Essential Technical Knowledge: MUST HAVE in-depth dispatching knowledge.
Industry Acumen: Strong knowledge of the trucking/hauling industry, including various trailer types and specialized heavy equipment logistics.
Self-Motivation: A "hit the ground running" mentality—this role requires an independent, driven professional with minimal training necessary.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal, cold-calling, and on-site management skills.
