Responsibilities
In this Jr. Accountant role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare and process check runs and wire payments.
- Review, verify, and post expense reports and vendor invoices.
- Assist in maintaining and reconciling accounts payable ledgers.
- Support month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and general account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized filing systems for invoices and payments.
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide ad hoc administrative and financial support to the Accounting Manager.
- Assist with data entry and reporting using QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
We are looking for the following for this Jr. Accountant role:
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience across all aspects of the function including AP, AR, reconciliations, and month/year end closing.
- A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel is required.
- Ability to be flexible with responsibilities and changes within the work place.
- Ability to work on-site in Toronto is required.
- Excellent communication skills is required.
