Responsibilities
In this Payroll Administrator position located in Downtown Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:
- Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll accurately and in a timely manner for all employees.
- Verify timekeeping records and attendance data to ensure accuracy and completeness for payroll processing.
- Calculate wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, and deductions based on relevant pay policies, employment agreements, and statutory requirements.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports to ensure accuracy of payroll data, including deductions, taxes, and benefits.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related government remittances, including income tax, CPP, EI, and other statutory deductions.
- Stay up-to-date on changes to payroll legislation and regulations in Ontario and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including pay discrepancies, deductions, and tax withholding.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files, including electronic and paper documentation.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including T4 preparation and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with the HR team and other departments to ensure accurate employee data and payroll information.
Qualifications
In this Payroll Administrator position located in Downtown Toronto, we are looking for:
- PCP or working towards designation is an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of Ontario payroll experience is required.
- Experience using major payroll systems like ADP, Ceridian, SAP is a strong asset.
- Must be available 20 hours per week between regular business hours.
- Strong Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
