Base Salary: $58,000 – $62,500 (Up to $65,000 for an exceptional candidate who ticks every requirement).

Work Model: Hybrid. 3 days onsite at the office, 2 days remote. (Note: 100% onsite required during the initial 3-month probationary/training period).
Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process multi-provincial, in-house weekly payroll for hourly staff and bi-weekly payroll for salaried staff.
- Union & Benefits Administration: Manage heavy union remittances, trade-specific wage schedules, and comprehensive benefits calculations across diverse collective agreements.
- Government Remittances: Ensure strict compliance and timely execution of all federal and provincial government remittances, including specialized requirements for Quebec (Revenu Québec).
- System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Act as a technical resource within JD Edwards (JDE) to investigate system backend issues, resolve processing errors, and optimize workflow.
- Month-End & Compliance: Generate, balance, and reconcile payroll reports for strict month-end and year-end close procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of robust, high-volume payroll experience. Experience with in-house processing in a large corporate setting is heavily preferred over outsourced payroll environments.
- Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working within construction, civil, mechanical, electrical, or facilities management fields is highly desirable.
- Technical Compliance: Proven experience handling unionized payroll and multi-provincial regulations.
- Education/Designation: Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is highly preferred, or actively working toward completion. Background or courses in CPA/CG is a strong plus.
- ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with JD Edwards (JDE) is considered a major asset and competitive advantage.
