Responsibilities
- Oversee, prepare, and execute accurate bi-weekly payroll processing and benefit administration
- Administer comprehensive employee benefit programs, manage enrollment changes
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees, management, and government agencies regarding all inquiries related to salaries, remittances, taxes, and benefits
- Provides routine payroll reporting and analysis
- Complete all required regulatory, provincial, and federal government reporting
- Partner closely with the Controller, management team
- Draft formal employment offer letters
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of dedicated experience in an equivalent payroll and benefits administration role
- Proficiency in PayWorks is highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required
- Valid professional certification or designation from the National Payroll Institute (formerly Canadian Payroll Association)
- Ability to work reliably on-site from Monday through Friday, between the operating hours of 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle, as the rural facility location is not serviced by public transit
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- High capacity for maintaining confidentiality, personal discretion, and integrity when dealing with sensitive personnel files and salary figures
