In this role as a Senior Payroll Technician, your benefits will include:

Responsibilities
• Update and validate employee information, including new hires, terminations, and changes in
employment status.
Compliance:
• Stay abreast of changes in payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ensure payroll processes adhere to provincial and federal regulations.
Benefits Administration:
• Assist in the administration of employee benefits related to payroll, such as health insurance,
retirement plans, and other deductions.
Reporting:
• Generate and analyze payroll reports for management and other departments.
• Prepare and submit relevant payroll-related documentation and reports.
• Update and maintain accurate personnel information in Newstar/Ceridian including adding new
hires and processing terminations.
• Prepare and enter journal entries in Newstar, Ceridian and/or Yardi.
Problem Resolution:
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and errors.
• Address and respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education or suitable professional training and experience as an alternative.
• Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience with salaried and hourly employees.
• A recognized payroll Professional Designation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Competence in written and verbal communications.
• Previous experience using Ceridian, SAP, or Newstar preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of CRA guidelines and payroll legislation.
• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• A positive Police Check is required.
