Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Manage the full-cycle payroll process (weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly) for all employees.
Compliance: Ensure all deductions (taxes, RRSP, insurance, union dues) are calculated correctly in accordance with provincial and federal laws.
Reporting: Prepare and submit payroll remittances (DAS) and generate year-end reports (T4, Relevé 1).
Employee Support: Act as the primary point of contact for pay-related inquiries, ensuring confidentiality and professional communication.
Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, GL entries, and periodic audits of payroll data.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in process optimizations and stay updated on changing labor laws.
Qualifications
Education: DEC in Accounting, Human Resources, or equivalent.
Certification: PCP/SCCP certification (Canadian Payroll Association) is highly preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Ceridian Dayforce, Workday, Nethris) and Excel.
Languages: Bilingual (French and English), as you will serve a diverse workforce in Montreal.
Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, high level of integrity and confidentiality, and strong analytical skills.
