We are currently partnering with a premier specialty pharmacy to find a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant for a 3-month temporary assignment, with a strong possibility of extension. Responsibilities
Pharmacy Assistant - Specialty Pharmacy (Temporary Assignment)
Data Entry & Workflow: Manage high-volume data entry in Kroll (approx. 50-60 entries/calls per shift), focusing on billing prescription claims,, manual submissions, and related.
Patient Records Management and Prescription Production: Support dispensing activities, maintain Medication Administration Records (MARs), and conduct detailed reviews of patient histories to ensure file accuracy.
Claims Adjudication: Resolve reimbursement issues, manage unfilled prescriptions, and coordinate with Patient Support Programs to verify coverage details.
Patient Communication: Provide empathetic and professional support via phone and email; resolve patient inquiries and handle sensitive conversations regarding outstanding account balances.
Problem Solving: Utilize critical thinking to troubleshoot billing rejections and assist patients in managing various challenges within scope.
Administrative Support: Maintain current workflow tasks to ensure timely patient follow-up and the resolution of pending billing and related matters.
Qualifications
Pharmacy Assistant - Specialty Pharmacy (Temporary Assignment)
Experience: A minimum of two years of full-time work experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in any practice setting.
Billing Expertise: Demonstrated experience with Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) billing, claims adjudication, and private insurance coordination is required.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Kroll software is highly preferred; however, candidates with exceptional billing/adjudication skills on other pharmacy platforms will be considered.
Communication: Strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are essential for effective patient interaction and account-related calls.
Soft Skills: A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a genuine interest in specialty pharmacy and high-volume environments.
Location: Must be able to work 100% on-site in Markham, ON.
