We are actively recruiting a skilled apprentice to join our Nisku specialist team. You will play a crucial role in the fabrication of highly specialized, custom jacketed piping and critical industrial assemblies. Responsibilities
- System Integrity & Blueprint Mastery: Lead the precise assembly of complex, multi-layered jacketed piping systems, translating technical requirements directly from P&ID and General Arrangement (GA) blueprints.
- Precision Fabrication: Execute critical fabrication tasks, including specialized cuts, precise threading, and custom component rework on a variety of industrial materials.
- Connection and Testing Authority: Act as the subject matter expert for all final bolt-up, high-pressure testing, and overall connection integrity verification procedures.
- Module Integration: Provide skilled support during skid module builds, focusing on the accurate installation of essential, high-value valves and structural support components.
Qualifications
This position is designed for an apprentice with demonstrated mastery; it is not a training role for foundational skills. If you cannot confidently prove your proficiency in every item listed below, please withhold your application.
- Certification: A valid 3rd Year Registered Apprentice Pipefitter ticket is REQUIRED.
- Critical Assembly Expertise: We demand absolute confidence and proven experience in high-pressure system assembly:
- Flange Bolt-Up Mastery: You must be an expert-level performer in complex, high-precision flange connection procedures.
- Pressure Testing Authority: Possess extensive, successful, and documented experience executing both hydrostatic and pneumatic integrity tests.
- Gasket & Stud Command: Instant, practical knowledge of critical components is a necessity:
- Victaulic Function: Full understanding of the installation and critical sealing function of Victaulic gaskets.
- Instant Sizing: The ability to identify and retrieve the correct stud and gasket sizes for common flanges immediately (e.g., knowing the correct diameter and pressure class without hesitation).
- Torque Discipline: Proven ability to apply accurate torque specifications precisely, ensuring first-time, zero-leak assemblies on critical industrial systems.
Professional Prerequisites:
Work Ethic: Exceptional attention to detail and a firm commitment to a quality standard that ensures zero rework.
Teamwork: Dependable, rigorously safety-focused, and ready to collaborate effectively with a highly skilled fabrication team.
Logistics: Must own basic hand tools and have reliable personal transportation for commuting to the Nisku facility.
