Now Hiring: Journeyman Pipefitters & Lead Pipefitter (Table Fitting Specialists)
Location: Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: Starting at $45.00/hour
(Performance-based raises are available for dedicated, long-term employees).
...
Our client’s Fort Saskatchewan fabrication facility is actively searching for dedicated and highly proficient Pipefitters—specifically those with table fitting expertise—as well as an experienced Lead Pipefitter. Your primary duty will involve the rapid, accurate construction of pipe spools and assorted parts straight from the fabrication tables.
If you’re an independent worker who values exact structural tolerances and quality craftsmanship, this is an incredible chance to get started right away. You will find outstanding prospects for career advancement and salary progression once you establish yourself within our fast-paced crew.
Advantages
Excellent Compesnation: Begin at a highly competitive $45.00 per hour, with clear pathways for future wage bumps.
Professional Advancement: Uncover exceptional possibilities to turn this contract into a permanent career, complete with planned salary reviews based on your on-the-job performance.
Reliable Shop Environment: Enjoy the stability of working indoors in a controlled, comfortable setting, completely avoiding the harsh and unpredictable weather conditions found in field operations.
Collaborative Atmosphere: Partner with highly trained quality control personnel and supportive shop foremen who are completely focused on maintaining an efficient, hassle-free production line.
Responsibilities
High-Output Production: Sustain a rapid pace of work; successfully fitting 100 inches per day is our baseline expectation.
Technical Comprehension: Flawlessly read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), fabrication blueprints, and spool sheets. Recognizing the exact distinction between shop drawings and isometric layouts is mandatory.
Assembly & Preparation: Accurately calculate, mark, slice, and bevel piping materials. Expertly construct spools, structural supports, and attached elements directly upon the shop benches.
Tool Operation & Tacking: Execute robust tack welds on all necessary components (proficient tacking skills are absolutely essential). Safely handle diverse shop machinery such as band saws, bevelers, oxy-fuel torches, grinders, and overhead bridge cranes.
Quality Assurance & Inspections: Conduct rigorous evaluations of your fit-ups before the final welding phase begins. Assist with hydro-testing procedures (prior experience here is a must) and collaborate tightly with QC inspectors and foremen to guarantee precise dimensional alignment.
Documentation & Tracking: Guarantee all materials are correctly tagged and fully traceable from start to finish. Promptly notify management of any material deficits, blueprint errors, or emerging quality issues.
Safety & Cleanliness: Adhere stringently to all corporate health and safety guidelines. Keep your immediate workspace exceptionally tidy, organized, and free of tripping hazards at all times.
Qualifications
Demonstrated background working as a dedicated Pipefitter, particularly emphasizing in-shop fabrication and specialized table fitting techniques.
Holding an official Journeyperson (J-Man) certification is strongly preferred for this role.
Previous background functioning as a Lead Pipefitter is a massive asset, given our current need to immediately staff a leadership position.
Independence: Capable of operating autonomously with minimal oversight, while consistently achieving the strict 100-inch daily production quota.
Candidates must provide an acceptable, relatively clean driving record and abstract.
Applicants must successfully clear a mandatory Drug & Alcohol screening prior to starting employment.
You must either reside in the immediate Fort Saskatchewan vicinity or be prepared to make the daily drive, as living out allowances (LOA) and camp accommodations are not available for this position.
