Our client, is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented PLM Data Migration Specialist to join their enterprise digital transformation team.
...
In this hands-on technical role, you will execute data migration activities required to transition legacy product data from Teamcenter / PLM2020 to a modern PLM360 environment. Working closely with business units, internal data teams, global migration leads, and external implementation partners, you will confirm attribute mapping logic, perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows, validate data integrity, and resolve data defects across complex engineering datasets. You will ensure that items, Bills of Materials (BOMs), CAD/PD metadata, classifications, and engineering artifacts are accurately transformed and production-ready for go-live.
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Full 1-Year Engagement)
Advantages
Enterprise Transformation Scope: Play a central technical role in a large-scale, multi-system enterprise PLM digital transformation program.
12-Month Engagement Stability: Secure a full 1-year enterprise consulting assignment driving core product data architecture and go-live readiness.
High-Impact Engineering Ownership: Direct end-to-end data mapping, profiling, transformation, and quality validation across complex OEM product structures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with global migration teams, enterprise architects, functional engineering SMEs, and third-party implementation partners.
Responsibilities
Data Scope & Mapping Execution: Define, apply, and validate detailed attribute mapping specifications between legacy PLM structures and PLM360, including items, revisions, BOMs, metadata, classifications, and engineering documents.
ETL & Data Transformation: Execute and support data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading (ETL) workflows across legacy PLM repositories, spreadsheets, and local data sources.
Legacy Data Profiling & Remediation: Profile legacy datasets to identify data quality gaps, structural inconsistencies, and historical migration anomalies, coordinating with business SMEs to perform remediation.
Data Load Validation & Defect Triage: Participate in test and production data loads into PLM360, leading data validation cycles, reconciling discrepancies, and resolving data migration defects.
Business Readiness & Quality Gates: Apply quality gates and milestone acceptance criteria to confirm data completeness, ensuring the legacy PLM system can be safely retired post-cutover.
Documentation & Governance: Maintain migration execution logs, mapping rules, validation evidence, defect trackers, and compliance documentation for project governance reviews.
Change Enablement: Collaborate with functional SMEs (Engineering, CAD/PD, Manufacturing, Service) to support business understanding of new PLM data models and data usage practices.
Qualifications
Teamcenter & PLM Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Teamcenter and Active Workspace data structures, item management, revisions, BOM variants, eCube, SQL, and metadata rules.
PLM Data Migration Background: Proven experience executing complex PLM data migration projects (preferably multi-system enterprise migrations within large OEM or heavy engineering environments).
ETL & Mapping Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience designing attribute mapping specifications, executing ETL workflows, and building data validation frameworks.
Engineering Data Literacy: Strong understanding of core engineering product structures (Items, BOMs, CAD/PD data, Specifications, Service BOMs).
Enterprise Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with SAP integration contexts, part master data flows, and downstream ERP/MES touchpoints.
Analytical & Communication Skills: Excellent data analysis skills, high attention to detail, and clear communication skills to report execution risks and status to project leadership.
Summary
If you are a tech-savvy PLM Data Migration Specialist who pairs deep Teamcenter/Active Workspace expertise with hands-on ETL, SQL, BOM mapping, and engineering dataset transformation skills, this 12-month contract opportunity is an ideal match. Bring your data architecture precision, validation rigor, and migration execution skills to our client's team today!
