Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Director of Operations, the Land Operations Coordinator with support in a variety of tasks between manpower management, equipment coordination, cargo operations, and safety&security:
- maintains the inventory of equipment and ensures the certification for cargo is kept up to date
- collects reports on defects and equipment breakage and follows up on the resulting repair and maintenance work
- final preparation of equipment in anticipation of shipment to the Far North (determining which equipment for which ship based on needs and constraints, etc.)
- coordinating verification activities at the port terminal and during loading and unloading operations
- participate in the labor needs evaluations for pre-season begin
- various additional tasks
Qualifications
- Completed university-level degree in Operations and Logistics Engineering or any other equivalent training may be considered relevant
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime transport or in the procurement of major projects in the Canadian Far North, having acquired extensive knowledge of the issues associated with these regions and the operational challenges posed by maritime transport in the Arctic
- Experience in operations, the transportation sector, stevedoring, heavy machinery, and/or the maritime field in general constitutes a definite asset
- Bilingualism in French and English, both oral and written
