Responsibilities
Serve as the primary internal technical advisor on embedded cybersecurity strategies for multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Critically evaluate, challenge, and refine vehicle systems architecture to optimize security profiles.
Propose, review, and validate secure design solutions from the initial concept phase through to testing and final integration.
Actively participate in systems engineering design reviews to embed security practices early in development.
Standardize security engineering frameworks by developing robust guidelines and design criteria.
Assess and audit third-party vendor compliance with international cybersecurity protocols and industry regulations.
Review and approve system modification proposals aimed at mitigating identified vulnerabilities.
Collaborate on the definition and execution of penetration testing plans and validation frameworks.
Execute comprehensive Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARA) for product architectures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in complex product development.
Proven expertise in vehicular software development and embedded feature engineering.
Deep understanding of vehicle communication networks, including CAN bus and automotive Ethernet.
Solid knowledge of relevant industry standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 27000, and ISO 26262.
Familiarity with wireless connectivity technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC).
Technical knowledge of ITxPT protocols is considered a strong asset.
Prior experience in heavy industries (transit, rail, heavy machinery) is highly beneficial.
Strong capability in managing customer specifications, technical requirements, and service-level conditions.
Excellent communication, analytical thinking, self-direction, and teamwork skills.
Bilingualism (English and French).
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
