Responsibilities
-Assembly & Testing: Assemble, integrate, and test medical imaging systems and subassemblies, including optical, mechanical, and electronic components. Perform system calibration, verification, and final testing.
-Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, optical, and system-level issues during production and product servicing.
-Documentation & ECOs: Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, production documentation, and engineering records. Assist with engineering change orders (ECOs) and product improvements.
-Quality Compliance: Ensure all work strictly complies with ISO 13485 quality standards and established manufacturing procedures.
-Continuous Improvement: Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support prototype builds and new product introductions.
-System Support: Install and configure embedded software and system applications. Support the refurbishment and repair of returned and demonstration units.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a production engineering, manufacturing engineering, or engineering technologist role.
Technical Skills: Proven experience assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
Soft Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating in a cross-functional team.
Assets:
Experience in medical device manufacturing or regulated industries, with knowledge of ISO 13485 (or similar QMS).
Experience with optical alignment, soldering, functional testing, calibration, or embedded systems.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, BOM management, and supporting non-conformances or CAPA activities.
