Responsibilities
• Safely assemble skids and crates for our product according to technical specifications
• Safely measure and cut wood using saws to the dimensions required for the finished product
• Use nail guns to build the skids, ensuring that safe work procedures are strictly followed
• Perform daily pre-use inspections on all hand tools and power equipment
• Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant manually, with a forklift, or with an overhead crane
• Put finished product away into racks, ensuring that rack capacities are never exceeded
• Strap and band finished product onto skids for secure shipping
• Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for all outgoing orders
• Safely operate lifting devices such as Counterbalance Forklifts and Combi-lifts
• Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
• Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at the end of the day
• Assist operators and the shipping crew on an as-needed basis to ensure smooth manufacturing & logistics operations
Qualifications
• Prior experience in a manufacturing & logistics or industrial environment
• Proven experience using nail guns and saws is required
• Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during the 8-hour shift
• Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment safely
• Commitment to wearing dual hearing protection and all required PPE
• Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
