Key Responsibilities
As a Production Supervisor, your visible leadership (approximately 70% floor presence) will drive team success and product reliability:

Team Leadership & Workflow Management:

Actively lead and supervise daily operations across welding, electrical and mechanical assembly, packaging, quality assurance, and material handling.

Lead bi-weekly production huddles to review priorities and align teams on production, quality, and safety goals.

Collaborate closely with the Production Planner to validate assembly schedules, flag missing parts, and ensure deadlines are met.

Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to guide daily shop-floor decisions.

Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement:

Take ownership of safety in your area for everyone (employees, contractors, visitors) by immediately correcting at-risk behaviors, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with company and CNESST standards.

Ensure product quality control throughout assembly (performance, fit, finish) and swiftly resolve non-conformities in collaboration with Quality and Engineering teams.

Rigorously apply Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S standards, and visual management tools to maintain clean, organized, and efficient workspaces.

Employee Development & Performance Management:

Ensure proper training for your team according to the training matrix, and encourage cross-training to build flexibility.

Conduct performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and manage the progressive discipline process rigorously and fairly when needed.

Actively participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new team members.

Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: 3 to 5 years of frontline supervision experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, ideally within the equipment or machinery sector.

Leadership: Proven ability to lead and engage diverse teams, manage performance and attendance, and resolve conflicts while fostering a positive team culture.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of electrical assembly (wiring, harnesses, components) – a strong asset.

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and basic wiring schematics.

Practical, hands-on mindset, capable of understanding assembly tasks and offering occasional support when needed.

Solid grasp of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and First-Pass Yield concepts.

Bilingualism: Proficiency in both French and English (spoken and written). French is essential for daily communication with local employees, documentation, and compliance with Quebec standards. English is required to collaborate with international suppliers, support key client accounts in the U.S., and communicate with English-speaking staff.

Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel for KPI analysis); experience with an ERP system is considered an asset.

Physical & Psychological Demands
Physical Effort: Ability to walk and stand on the production floor for up to 6 or 7 hours per shift. Occasional ability to lift or move loads weighing up to 20–25 lbs.

Sensory Skills: Excellent visual acuity (including color perception to interpret wiring schematics) and adequate hearing to safely navigate a moderately noisy manufacturing environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Mandatory use of PPE on the floor (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection) while leading by example for the teams.

Psychological Resilience: Ability to maintain focus under pressure, manage daily shifting priorities, and lead a multicultural workforce with professionalism and fairness.
