re you a proactive finance professional who loves variety? We are sourcing a dynamic Project Accountant for our client. This unique role blends full-cycle material accounting with hands-on logistics support in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
If you thrive on keeping projects on track and ledgers balanced, we want to hear from you!
...
Advantages
- Diverse Work Environment: Escape the desk! This role offers a unique mix of high-level accounting and active, "on-the-ground" project logistics.
- Professional Growth: Gain experience in a federally regulated environment and play a key role in a major software transition (Sage to Oracle).
- Impactful Work: Your logistics support directly ensures that responders and project teams have the food, shelter, and supplies they need to succeed in the field.
- Collaborative Culture: Work across multiple departments, building a broad internal network and becoming a go-to resource for the entire organization.
Responsibilities
You will be the backbone of the Material Assets and Management Accounting lifecycle—from initial planning to final disposal. When you aren't managing the books, you’ll be on the front lines providing vital logistics support for project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial & Asset Management: Handle the full asset lifecycle, including additions, disposals, impairments, and transfers.
- Precision Accounting: Manage monthly depreciation, amortization, and inventory reconciliations. You’ll oversee month-end and year-end processes (accruals, adjusting entries, and ledger maintenance).
- Logistics & Field Support: During active projects, you’ll shift gears to coordinate food services, supply distribution, and facility setup (including sanitation and sleeping quarters) for tactical responders.
- Reporting & Strategy: Develop budgets, financial plans, and innovative tools to improve workflow and justify key business decisions.
- Team Collaboration: Act as the primary backup for the Project Team and secondary support for Finance/Accounting.
Qualifications
What makes you a great fit?
You are a "full-cycle" thinker who is just as comfortable auditing a spreadsheet as you are coordinating supplies in the field. You are flexible, proactive, and possess the analytical "detective" skills needed for audit and proofreading tasks.
- Education: 2–4 year degree/diploma in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years in a financial role, ideally within a federally regulated environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Oracle and Sage; advanced Excel skills are a must.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in Material Accounting within the Medical or Engineering sectors is highly preferred.
- Emergency Management: ICS 100, 200, and 300 certifications.
- Communication: Strong functional Bilingualism (English/French) is required.
Summary
If you are a flexible, proactive professional ready to take on a hybrid accounting and logistics challenge, we want to meet you!
