Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Work with internal and external customers and technical experts to determine the optimal project scope, as well as comparable alternatives at the conceptual stage.
Establish conceptual project schedules, execution strategies, and design scopes of work to support the customer requirements.
Work with internal and external customers and technical experts to determine the complete project scope for complex projects, including identifying all required technical deliverables, interdependencies, and any risks that are technical in nature.
Oversee the scope and ensure the quality of engineering deliverables provided by internal and external engineering consultants to meet the needs of the project.
Provide guidance to consultants, EPC engineering and EPC field Execution Planning to ensure deliverables are met on behalf of all stakeholders.
Provide guidance to stakeholders reviewing construction Requests for Information and consult with required parties and provide responses in the form of Field Instructions, or via direct construction support on site.
Identify any non-standard material or design requirements at the scoping stage and champion the Management of Change Process.
Identify any long lead material at the scoping stage and work with Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of material.
Identify any gaps in standards and guidelines and develop recommendations for updates of technical documentation to the Team Lead.
Obtain and monitor design resources for project requirements.
Create, monitor, and control the schedule for all Engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Demonstrate ownership of project success by proactively identifying and resolving challenges and dependencies on Engineering deliverables.
Coordinate all design reviews between consultants, EPC Engineering, and EPC Field Execution Planning.
Identify and establish inspection and test plans when required and ensure inspection points are coordinated during construction.
Review construction Requests for Information and consult with required parties and provide responses.
Ensures project information is stored appropriately, and that technical closeout of projects is completed in a timely manner.
Ensure the safety of our staff, contractors, and the public is held as paramount in everything we do.
Assist the Project Manager in lessons learned and close-out reporting activities.
Qualifications
Provides technical leadership and guidance to Project Engineers and Technologists.
Manage the QA/QC and performance management of drawings and construction packages and ensure high quality construction packages are issued for construction.
