We build schools, hospitals, early childhood centres, social housing, and commercial or residential buildings up to six stories high. As a Senior Construction Project Manager, you will become a strategic pillar of our major multi-residential and institutional projects department. Your role will be intensely focused on pre-construction management, from the design phase to delivery, orchestrating projects ranging in value from $5 million to $15 million. This position fits perfectly into the engineering & design category, as it requires an expert global vision, a deep understanding of modular manufacturing methods, and close collaboration with all our other departments, from technical drafting to senior management.
On a daily basis, our future Senior Construction Project Manager will evolve in a fast-paced environment where we manage an average of five projects simultaneously. Our factory production cycles are extremely fast (7 to 10 days) and our overall project timelines are very short (1 to 3 months). The work environment at our South Shore offices is very family-oriented, highly collaborative, and supportive. Responsibilities
• Oversee the full execution of our construction projects, from the initial design phase to final delivery.
• Represent our interests and obligations regarding cost management, health and safety, as well as legal responsibilities.
• Create, communicate, and rigorously maintain a detailed schedule and action tracking board for each of our ongoing projects.
• Accurately validate plans, technical sheets, specifications, and all technical documents required for the manufacturing of our modules.
• Proactively coordinate our teams of professionals, subcontractors, and various external stakeholders.
• Agilely manage change requests during the review of plans and specifications, factory manufacturing, and site construction.
• Organize our coordination meetings, ensure clear note-taking, and effectively delegate actions to internal departments (purchasing, drafting, delivery, finishing, service, etc.).
• Ensure comprehensive management of our project subcontractors, from contract signing to the invoicing process.
• Generate accurate progress reports and communicate strategic updates directly to our senior management.
• Formulate key recommendations and intervene autonomously to resolve any problems or issues related to project execution.
• Actively participate in the improvement and creation of our management tools, communication methods, and internal protocols.
Qualifications
• Excellent natural leadership and proven ability to mobilize teams around common and ambitious goals.
• Exceptional rigor, meticulousness, and high precision in reading and analyzing complex technical documents.
• Superior organizational skills, great resourcefulness, and excellent professional judgment when facing the unexpected.
• Strong adaptability and demonstrated skills in priority and stress management.
• Strong aptitudes for interpersonal communication, strategic negotiation, and persuasion.
• Confirmed ability to simultaneously lead various large-scale projects in a very fast-paced environment.
• Completed university degree in construction engineering or college diploma (DEC) in architecture.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry in Quebec (tolerance for 3 years if the experience is deemed very solid and directly related to our operations).
• Concrete and successful experience in the wood-frame, multi-residential, or institutional construction sectors.
• In-depth mastery of Building Codes and current government regulations (Quebec required, knowledge of Ontario regulations considered a major asset).
• Excellent ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural plans as well as technical specifications.
• Proficiency with standard computer tools (MS Office Suite) and a strong openness to the technological transition towards advanced modeling software (Revit).
• Specific technical knowledge relating to building mechanics, site operations, or design/pre-project stages are considered very strong assets.
