Responsibilities
- Plan negotiations, define awarding strategy and prepare sourcing board approvals, respecting the suppliers defined by the commodity strategy, to enable pooling potential
- Negotiate local, regional, or multi-site contracts in conjunction with relevant procurement managers, or independently. This includes negotiating prices, delivery schedules, and payment terms, among other specifics.
- Contribute to EcoSystem commodity strategy, and develop a business listing of preferred suppliers
- Manage the relationship with assigned suppliers (in alignment with CM/GCM when applicable)
- Support and maintain supplier segmentation of the relevant supply base via actively representing the Customer view in Commodity Circles
- Analyse local and regional market trends and their utilization in commodity strategy
- Identify customer requirements and supports the execution process, providing input into the sourcing process.
- Monitor supplier performance and inform relevant customers about this performance
- Generates, documents and implement savings measures; monitor and reports relevant KPIs.
- Drive early procurement / supplier involvement and cost-out activities.
- Identify procurement risks and opportunities and implement respective measures
- Identify potential contractual items and liaises (if relevant) with the strategic commodity management to ensure such items are added to existing contracts or appropriate contracts are established
- Implement Commodity Strategies and define local/regional material field strategy for non-pooled commodities
Qualifications
- Experience working in a complex, constantly evolving global organisational environment.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing/commodity management.
- Outstanding Excel skills.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and customer management skills.
- Excellent commercial, contractual, and project management competence.
- Familiarity with component Manufacturing processes and Quality
- Knowledge of working with a global supplier base, in a matrix environment.
- Bachelor’s' degree or Master’s Degree desirable but not essential
You must have experience negotiating multi million pounds contracts; experience developing (not only implementing) commodity strategy; strong in excel.
