AdvantagesMedical insurance: medication, paramedical (chiro, osteo, physio etc.), vision care, ambulance etc.3 weeks of vacationDental: up to $2,500 per year per personLife Insurance: 3 x salary for employee life insurance, dependent life insurance and Death - Dismemberment - Accident insuranceDisability: Short and long term disabilityPension Plan: RRSP for employee contribution (up to 13%) and DPSP for contribution (up to 5%)Employee Assistance ProgramResponsibilities- Prepare and process weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for all unionized and non-unionized employees of the company (except longshoremen);- Responsible for the planning, organization and execution of various technical and administrative payroll activities while respecting deadlines; control the quality and accuracy of various operations to be processed;- Open and close employee files in Ceridian's InSync payroll software and maintain all information contained in these files;- Open and close employee files in the group insurance provider's software and maintain all information contained in these files;- Carry out the year-end process including all the necessary preparation for the production of T4s and Relevé 1s;- Update and verify the monthly invoices from the group insurance supplier, ensure that the premiums invoiced correspond to those programmed in the payroll system and, if necessary, make changes;- Perform monthly reports for the Finance Department: health tax, employer's contribution to the pension plan and time banks; prepare the monthly report for the Desjardins Trust and the related payment; - Make journal entries for all payrolls; - Complete the annual data tables for the defined benefit plans as required by the Oceanex pension plan manager; - Provide training to employees who are assigned to payroll processing in the absence of the Paymaster; - Respond to all payroll related questions from employees and management; - Perform any other related duties as required.
