Responsibilities
Daily Quality Oversight: Direct the day-to-day quality assurance programs across the fabrication floor, guaranteeing that every single deliverable perfectly aligns with stringent internal protocols, client specifications, and regulatory codes.
Comprehensive Inspections: Command all vital inspection and testing procedures, which includes managing Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), executing pressure tests, evaluating Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and meticulously compiling final turnover documentation.
Client Relations & Alignment: Serve as the face of the quality department during critical client meetings, expertly managing relationships and ensuring that all fabrication outcomes precisely match the client's initial project expectations.
Process Optimization & Defect Mitigation: Take charge of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective strategies to aggressively minimize rework, boost first-pass yield rates, and safeguard the overarching project timelines.
Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the ultimate quality authority on the floor, offering guidance, training, and constructive coaching to a diverse crew of welders, fitters, shop supervisors, and subordinate QC Inspectors.
Qualifications
Professional Experience: You absolutely must possess extensive, hands-on experience working directly within a manufacturing or fabrication shop setting, coupled with a well-documented history as a welding inspector and team leader.
Mandatory Certifications: You hold a valid CWB Level 2 certification at an absolute minimum. (Candidates possessing a CWB Level 3 ticket or a direct background with CWB/ABSA structural fabrication will be heavily prioritized).
Technical Mastery: You boast an exhaustive knowledge of complex welding procedures, NDE, material traceability logistics, and pressure testing, paired with the analytical ability to decipher intricate engineering blueprints and technical specs.
Communication & Relationship Building: You are armed with elite verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to seamlessly navigate high-stakes client meetings, unite cross-functional project teams, and thrive in an accelerated work environment.
Regulatory Knowledge: You maintain a profound, practical understanding of modern quality management frameworks and crucial industry codes, including ASME, CSA, CWB, ABSA, and National Board standards.
