In this hybrid technical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, functional accuracy, and hardware integration of a complex, mission-critical pharmacy application. Operating within an Agile team structure, you will analyze business requirements, author detailed test cases, execute manual test plans, and perform backend database and API validations. While primarily focused on manual execution, you will also draft automation-ready test scenarios for adoption by specialized automated testing squads. Responsibilities
End-to-End Test Execution & API Validation
Requirements Analysis & Planning: Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to review user stories, clarify acceptance criteria, and ensure complete test coverage for complex software features.
Manual & Hardware Testing: Design and execute detailed manual test cases for software application workflows as well as integrated hardware peripherals (printers, barcode scanners).
Backend API & Web Services Testing: Utilize tools such as Postman or SoapUI to test REST/SOAP endpoints, simulating integration environments and validating data payloads.
Database Verification: Write relational SQL queries (including multi-table JOIN statements) to inspect database state, verify backend data integrity, and validate application transactions.
Defect Management & Automation Enablement
Defect Lifecycle Governance: Document, track, and retest defects using tools like Jira, Confluence, and qTest, providing detailed steps to reproduce for engineering teams.
Automation Scenario Drafting: Author clear, structured test cases and scenarios designed to be easily adopted and implemented by automated testing teams.
Agile Team Contribution: Take proactive initiative after completing assigned user stories, actively participating in sprint ceremonies, defect triage discussions, and peer knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications
Professional QA Experience: 2+ to 5+ years of hands-on software quality assurance and manual testing experience within an Agile development environment.
Backend API Testing: Hands-on experience testing RESTful / SOAP web services using tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
SQL & Data Querying: Proven ability to write relational SQL queries (including JOINs) to inspect backend databases and validate test data. (Note: A practical SQL exercise may be conducted during the interview process).
Agile & QA Tooling: Experience using defect tracking, test management, and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, or qTest.
Soft Skills & Mindset: Highly proactive "go-getter" attitude; exceptional communication skills with the ability to summarize complex technical concepts clearly; strong collaboration skills and a genuine eagerness to learn complex domain logic.
Preferred Assets & Nice-to-Haves
Prior experience with Pharmacy system applications, pharmacy workflows, or a background as a pharmacy technician/pharmacist.
Experience in hardware/peripheral device testing (e.g., thermal printers, scanners).
