Responsibilities
As the Quality Engineer, you will lead the quality claims process and serve as the main driver for continuous improvement at the Vaughan facility. Your day-to-day duties will include:
Strategy & QMS Management: Define and implement the local quality assurance strategy; take full ownership of the QMS and internal audit findings.
Claims & ERP Handling: Document, research, and manage customer claims and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) using the BC365 ERP quality modules.
Quality Authority: Evaluate production quality; authorize the quarantine of non-conforming parts/products, propose product recalls when required, and recommend production/shipment holds for assessment.
External Liaison: Act as the primary interface for external certification bodies (e.g., ISO, TUV, SP) and manage compliance findings.
Culture & Training: Secure customer-perceived quality by improving tools, processes, and competencies; promote quality awareness through regular communication, training, and forums.
Financial Impact: Actively work to reduce annual warranty costs and meet targeted corporate KPIs.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset:
Experience: 3–5 years of experience within a complex, global supply chain or quality organization is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent documented experience successfully running a similar operation/function in a related manufacturing industry.
Technical Quality Skills: Strong understanding of Product Quality Assurance tools (e.g., PPAP, 5-Why, Root Cause Analysis, 8D) and QMS frameworks.
Systems & Software: Proficiency with standard office tools is required; hands-on experience with digital claims-handling applications and ERP software (specifically BC365) is highly advantageous.
Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English with the ability to engage, motivate, and collaborate with internal leadership, operations teams, and external customers.
Personal Attributes: Safety-oriented, resilient, and independent. You must be highly analytical yet decisive, with a total-cost and profitability mindset.
Physical/Environment Capabilities: Comfortable split-working between a quiet office environment and a manufacturing floor (where intermediate to loud noise and moving mechanical vehicles are present).
