In this role, you will be responsible for processing orders and moving storage boxes of files, books, binders, data backup tapes, and other materials. This is a fast-paced, highly physical position that requires continuous movement, precision, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Environment: Active warehouse setting moving materials manually and utilizing handling aids.
Responsibilities
Order Processing: Efficiently retrieve, process, and prepare incoming and outgoing orders by reading labels and scanning barcodes.
Material Handling: Load and move boxes manually or by safely operating hand carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks over concrete or uneven surfaces.
Pallet Management: Manually load boxes onto pallets, shrink-wrap pallets at ground level or on carts, and assist in loading pallets onto trucks.
Inventory Tracking: Use a proprietary computer system and handheld scanners to log orders, track data, and pinpoint box locations.
Facility Navigation: Access various storage levels, which includes climbing and balancing securely on ladders.
Qualifications
Heavy Lifting: Must be able to comfortably lift, carry, push, and pull boxes weighing anywhere from 10 lbs to over 100 lbs regularly and without assistance for prolonged periods.
Mobility & Stamina: Ability to walk, stand, kneel, squat, crawl, stoop, reach, and bend forward frequently throughout a 9-hour shift.
Dexterity: Ability to work without assistance to grip, lift, and carry items up/down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surfaces.
Communication: Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently to process order labels and navigate system software.
