As a Risk Analyst III, you will join the Credit Exception Management team, focusing on the quantitative analysis, reporting, and monitoring of counterparty credit risk exposures across global trading activities. Working in a dynamic, collaborative environment, the Risk Analyst III plays a crucial role in investigating and escalating credit excesses, executing infrastructure updates, and partnering closely with key stakeholders across market risk, credit risk, front office, and technology.
This position is a 6-month contract opportunity with a strong possibility for extension. The role is based in Toronto, ON, on a Hybrid work model requiring 4 days in-office per week at the downtown location (with Thursday as an anchor day).

Responsibilities
-Manage counterparty credit risk by thoroughly investigating, tracking, and escalating credit excesses at the facility level.
-Generate precise exposure reports and ensure all metrics strictly align with reporting guidelines and internal standards.
-Monitor portfolio risk exposures, ensuring proper measurement, aggregation, and analysis in accordance with approved counterparty limits.
-Perform impact assessments, draft requirements, and conduct testing for infrastructure changes, new credit facilities, and policy updates.
-Document, explain, and resolve production issues, late reports, and process metrics.
-Partner and liaise effectively with internal stakeholders including front office traders, Credit Risk Management, Global Markets Credit, operations, and technology teams.
-Champion process improvements and support operational risk management through cross-training and documentation standard adherence.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
-5 to 7 years of overall professional experience within the financial services industry, ideally within risk management or investigation roles.
-Strong technical knowledge of financial products (specifically derivatives and bonds), counterparty credit risk, and capital markets.
-Demonstrated expertise in investigation, complex problem-solving, and sound financial acumen.
-Hands-on experience working with complex vendor systems.
-Proven experience conducting impact assessments, drafting requirements, and performing testing for projects.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk information clearly to cross-functional teams.
Nice to Haves:
-Undergraduate degree in a related discipline; post-graduate degree or professional designations such as CFA or FRM preferred.
-Direct experience in specialized Risk Management roles.
-Working knowledge of technical and analytical tools such as SQL, VBA, Python, or AI applications.
