Location: Edmonds, Vernon, possibly remote - Manager is looking for a candidate in Edmonds on hybrid basis, however, he is open to candidates in Vernon or remote (up to 1 hour time zone difference such as Alberta) - as long as they meet the requirements on the role and work PST hours.
Responsibilities
• A minimum ten (10) years of sourcing, category management or equivalent, preferably in a complex environment of a similar size to company.
• Experience in categories or infrastructure capital project sourcing that are similar to company, would be considered an asset.
• Develop and plan the implementation of category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages by using excellent skills in communication, analysis, critical thinking, planning/project management, supplier/market research, problem-solving, and facilitation of decision-making in a large and complex organization.
• Implement category and/or sourcing strategies or related work packages using a thorough understanding of BC Hydro sourcing and category management processes and standards, good project management practices, knowledge of public sector procurement law, and the appropriate application of relevant supply chain concepts.
• Lead and/or support projects that may include developing and conducting multi-stage RFPs, preparing for and conducting negotiations, both initial award and for extensions, as well as implementing supplier relationship management initiatives including analyzing and resolving escalated contract or supplier issues.
• Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships between supply chain organization and business partners, suppliers, and stakeholders through activities such as timely communication, resolution of issues, and relevant reporting.
• Act as a subject matter expert by advising on category management and/or sourcing best practices, approaches, and standards to enhance current operational efficiency and future capability.
Qualifications
Must haves:
-A business relationship development-focused individual who is interested in working with internal stakeholders, which requires skillsets in listening to feedback, being service oriented, and thrives in a collaborative environment - has a positive demeanor, positive people skills - is a team player but also is self starter who can recommend and lead by taking initiative.
-Proficient working with advanced Excel and PowerPoint, drafting well written business briefing documents highlighting key information for leadership review.
-Initiative-driven individual that handles ambiguity with ease and can maintain focus and positive engagement with stakeholders.
-Build Strategic relationships
-Sourcing work, developing sourcing strategies and document RFPs/RFIs, diligent with the details
Nice to haves:
-Operational supply chain experience
-Experience with BC Bid would be an asset
-Someone who has experience working in larger/complex organizations (people from the Oil & Gas industry)
