Individual responsibilitiesJob responsibilities:  The Logistics Manager will support the units’ operational strategy for logistics/transportation including management and accountability for: The proper functioning of site logistics, including managing the department in accordance with organization’s policies and applicable regulations.The inventory accuracy and level of raw material dictated by usage; weekly and monthly physical inventory, budgeting and forecasting.Maintaining and adhering to processes and standard operating procedures related to logistics and related regulations.Excellent teamwork with Production and Accounting teams to ensure seamless operations, on-time delivery of finished product and accounting KPIs for product life cycle.Skillful communication with the corporate Supply Chain Planning and Fulfillment COE, coordinating all efforts in a team-based environment.Master the various logistics KPIs and act on discrepancies.Experiences and strengthsDesired experience:Bachelor’s degree in related field.Extensive experience in the field of logistics, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.Firm grasp of supply chain, inventory, distribution, business, and management principles.Knowledge of various modes of transportation and shipping model (both inbound and outbound per day).Demonstrated ability to manage direct and indirect reports and effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals.Excellent overall adaptability and flexibility.Intermediate knowledge of SAP.Core competencies defined for this jobPlanning and organizingDecision-makingPartnershipRigourTeam leadershipContinuous improvement

The mill is actually under construction and start-up is scheduled in December 2022.Role & ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator are to:•    Participate in the SAP implementation, by supporting the logistics team with the training of Material handlers, while adhering to the standard operating procedures and contributing to their continuous improvement.•    Oversee and assist shipments process through our ERP system.•    Day to day monitoring of Outbound shipment planning and throughput.•    Collaborate with production operations, ensuring product availability and accuracy.•    Frequent communication with corporate S&OP team as well as COE teams.•    Tracking various logistics and department KPI’s.•    Assist helping Material Handlers with day-to-day operation, IT issues, Shipment functions, etc.•    Streamline communication between Outbound Material Handlers and office personnel, ensuring accuracy and efficiency•    Fill in for Logistics Supervisor, when necessary and or directed.Experiences and strengths•    Minimum 2-3 years of experience in related Logistics Field•    Professional diploma in logistics or equivalent•    Prior experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel, Outlook, Power point•    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written•    Ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision•    Ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously. •    Ability to solve problems and prioritize daily tasks in a fast-paced environment.•    Sound judgment for making appropriate decisions.•    Rigour and agility to handle projects in accordance with their scope, budget and timelines.•    Collaborative spirit needed to work closely with all team members.•    Knowledge of SAP software or other ERP (an asset) 

Your challenge!Reporting to the Plant Manager, with a functional link to the Director Logistics Operations – Group, the Logistics Supervisor’s mission is to participate in the implementation of Cascades' operational strategy by directing his or her unit's shipping activities and ensuring rigorous monitoring of the logistics plan and delivery times. You prioritize customer satisfaction and do not hesitate to escalate issues, when necessary, in order to limit the possibility of delays or delivery errors. You thus coordinate warehouse supervisors or logistics technicians’ work to optimize the unit's storage capacity by efficiently planning finished products’ movement and developing a cyclical counting process. Finally, through the application of standard operating procedures, you contribute to the operational excellence of your plant's logistics process and maximize its ability to effectively respond to customer demand within the required timeframe.This position is joining the Bear Island Project team in Ashland, VA , which is currently in construction phases. The Logistics Supervisor will work with other leaders to achieve targets and assist with the start up of the new mill.Individual responsibilities Accountable Ensure the accuracy of inventory data in the system in real time and in the right place. Carry out the logistics plan for the plant you are responsible for. Ensure the accuracy and rigour of the dates recorded on delivery. Responsible Coordinate and plan shipping activities to ensure timely delivery. Effectively manage raw material shipping and receiving operations. Ensure cooperation among production and logistics partners. Ensure optimized warehousing. Post goods issue to produce invoices based on business rules. Apply the external warehouse management strategy, as required. Implement a cyclical count process based on business rules. Plan the daily movements of finished products in the satellite warehouses. Communicate with Customer Service in the event of production delays. Monitor the alignment between production and your inventory to report any delivery delays to Customer Service and COE Logistics. Optimize trailer⁄transport loading, in collaboration with customers. Ensure SOP (standard operating procedures) are understood and applied Validate the creation of transportation costs and the transfer of costs to Accounting for accounts payable in the system (if outside 4 PL). Ensure daily monitoring (checklist: SOP_WM) and act accordingly. Experiences and strengths Professional degree in logistics or a relevant discipline. 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role. Warehouse supervision experience. amiliarity with various logistics issues. Leadership and expertise in promoting buy-in to proposed solutions and rallying their team around objectives. Ability to communicate effectively Autonomy, strong sense of responsibility, and strong personal and professional ethics. Rigour and agility to handle projects based on their scope, budget and timelines. Collaborative spirit needed to work closely with all team members.
