Responsibilities
• Month end close in compliance with GAAP and ASPE
• Prepare financial statements and work with outside CPA firm
• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations as well as financial analysis
• Ongoing analysis and reporting of financial and operational results
• Preparing and filing HST returns
• Help improve and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Identify areas of cost control, revenue and margin generation to help improve bottom line performance
• Develop and communicate key business performance metrics to management
• Various ongoing and special ad-hoc operational and accounting/finance projects
• Responsible for analysis of contract revenue, cost of sales, estimated cost to complete and unbilled/deferred revenue on a monthly basis
• Manage, plan and coordinate project accounting side of annual financial audit
• Analyze and report on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results
Qualifications
* Bachelor degree in Business/Accounting discipline
• Professional accounting designation an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Job costing experience a must
• Jonas experience an asset
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Manufacturing experience and asset
