Responsibilities
As senior accounant - Real estate, you will be a cornerstone of our financial operations, overseeing the following:
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage month-end closings and prepare comprehensive financial statements for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.
- Operating Expense Management: Oversee accruals, recoveries, and the billing of operating expenses (CAM and tax reconciliations).
- Process Optimization: Review internal controls and implement best practices to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Strategic Support: Handle ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to support the group's ongoing expansion.
Qualifications
Ideal Qualifications for the Senior Real Estate Accountant Role:
To excel in this position, you should bring the following expertise and mindset:
- Educational Background: A degree in Accounting
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Sector Expertise: Previous experience in commercial real estate is a must (knowledge of CAM and tax recoveries).
- Bilingualism: Functional proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively within the Canadian market.
- Soft Skills: A collaborative team player with a curious mindset, always looking to learn and improve processes.
