Responsibilities
The primary duties for this role include:
- Advisory & Expertise: Analyze and record complex transactions (mergers, acquisitions, and special transactions) across various business units.
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements (quarterly and annual) as well as the Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
- Governance & Standards: Monitor IFRS updates, draft accounting policies, and provide training to divisional finance teams on best practices.
- External Liaison: Collaborate closely with external auditors and contribute to the drafting of reports for the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Requirements
- CPA designation
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent proficiency in IFRS standards
- Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment
- Bilingualism: Full bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written) is required to support stakeholders across various regions.
"As the company conducts a significant portion of its business outside of Quebec, the incumbent will be required to communicate regularly with English-speaking stakeholders. Consequently, proficiency in English (both oral and written) is an essential requirement."
