Responsibilities
Service Design & User Research: Lead and execute comprehensive user research pipelines in accordance with the Service Design Playbook—including empathy mapping, user interviews, card sorting, and journey mapping.
Requirements & Systems Architecture: Elicit, elaborate, and maintain high-quality business, functional, and non-functional requirements. Produce clear use case models, conceptual-to-logical data models, and business rule definitions.
Process Re-Engineering: Apply Lean optimization concepts to evaluate current-state systems, conduct gap analyses on vendor release upgrades, and design future-state workflows that improve service delivery.
Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all digital interfaces, form layouts, and service blueprints conform to the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, Digital Service Standards, and the Ontario Design System (ODS).
Project Coordination & Gating: Develop and track detailed project plans, milestones, risk/issue/dependency registries, and status reports in alignment with corporate project management frameworks and checkpoint review processes.
Tier-3 Troubleshooting & Defect Management: Lead technology troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex production defects. Partner with Quality Assurance (QA) and engineering teams to track, triage, and validate system fixes.
Operational Readiness & Change Management: Author operational infrastructure assets (e.g., change requests, run books, deployment guides, implementation playbooks). Design training materials and lead user onboarding tracks to ensure smooth post-implementation stabilization.
Stakeholder Consultation: Facilitate workshops, working groups, and joint application design (JAD) sessions using collaborative tools like Miro. Present complex technical architecture scenarios clearly to non-technical business leaders.
Qualifications
Core Seniority: 8+ years of progressive professional experience as a Business Analyst leading enterprise-level IT modernization initiatives.
Domain & Framework Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience applying the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, Digital Service Standards, and the Ontario Design System to software solutions.
User-Centric Design Mastery: Demonstrated track record of leading end-to-end user research tracks (e.g., card sorting, customer journey mapping, persona building) following a structured Service Design Playbook.
Lean/Re-Engineering Acumen: Practical experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, or structured continuous-improvement methodologies to streamline workflows and establish technical cost-benefit models.
Technical Modeling & Tooling: Advanced proficiency creating data flow diagrams (DFDs), process maps, and screen mockups using the Microsoft Office suite and collaborative whiteboarding platforms (Miro).
