The Role in Brief
Title: Estimator, Project Development (Design-Build)
Schedule: Full-time, day shift
Salary: Competitive (to be discussed based on experience)

Responsibilities
As an Estimator, your main responsibilities will be to:
Prepare cost estimates for industrial and commercial construction projects (materials, labor, rental), according to plans and specifications.
Verify tender specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and bid details.
Perform detailed take-offs of preliminary quantities, plans, and specifications.
Analyze subcontractor bids and make recommendations where applicable.
Conduct an in-depth study of plans and specifications submitted by clients.
Correctly interpret the technical specifications of tender documents.
Participate in receiving subcontractor quotes and closing project bids with responsible parties.
Collaborate in the continuous improvement of methods and processes for ongoing file management.
Ensure the continuous updating of the database of general and specialized contractors for project execution.
Ensure quick execution in all tasks arising from the position.
Perform all other related tasks to support the estimation team in daily operations.
Qualifications
This Estimator role is for you if you possess:
A college or university degree in estimation, civil engineering, architecture, or construction management, or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in design-build estimation, ideally with general contractors.
Experience in estimating residential, commercial, industrial, data center projects, etc.
Member in good standing of the OIQ and/or AEECQ, an asset.
Strong mathematical aptitudes and good knowledge of industry standards, building codes, municipal regulations, and construction materials.
Very good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of BIM, Bluebeam, and Procore software.
Skills:
Integrity and honesty.
Organizational skills and good time management.
Good communication, interpersonal skills, and a strong team spirit.
Excellent negotiation and planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Dynamism, proactivity, and prompt problem-solving.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
