Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the Senior Director of Operations is responsible for the full scope of operational activities across our Quebec facilities, overseeing approximately 300 employees across multiple departments. This role plays a key part in ensuring overall operational performance—cost control, process efficiency, health & safety compliance, team leadership, and continuous improvement throughout the production cycle.

Work Schedule
Operations run 7 days a week, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., covering day and evening shifts (no night shifts)
Shifts are mainly covered by managers
Typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with expected on-site presence 4 days/week (operations typically require 5 days/week presence)

Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Planning
Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional operations team
Implement operational strategies aligned with business goals and growth targets
Contribute to company-wide strategic planning
- Operations Management
Oversee production, automation, inventory, facility maintenance, and distribution logistics
Optimize production flow, inventory levels, and service-level commitments
Leverage technology solutions for efficiency, forecasting, and reporting
- People Management
Manage a team of ~400 employees including leads, supervisors, and managers
Foster a KPI-driven, performance-based culture with continuous training and accountability
Promote collaboration and innovation within teams
- Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards (including CNESST)
Build and maintain a strong safety culture across all levels
- Facilities & Maintenance
Oversee smooth functioning and upkeep of equipment, production lines, and facilities
Efficiently manage capital assets and facility investments
- Financial & Operational Performance
Manage budgets, P&L, and cost optimization initiatives
Use data and KPIs to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality
Identify and resolve operational risks and bottlenecks
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, R&D, Customer Service, and HR
Serve as a key liaison between production operations and senior leadership
Qualifications
10+ years in operations or manufacturing leadership, preferably in the food or meal kit industry
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field (MBA is an asset)
Proven track record managing large teams and complex operations
Strong transformational leadership and experience implementing scalable systems
Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks (CNESST, HACCP, CFIA)
Technical skills in automation, maintenance, and continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma)
Financial acumen in budgeting, P&L, and capital project management
Excellent communication and leadership skills; bilingual (French and English) preferred
