As a Senior Estimator within our Engineering and Design division, your mandate will be to:
Analyze plans and specifications in depth to fully grasp the scope of work and project specifics.
Identify required products and execution methods specific to the project to ensure precise estimation.
Collaborate actively in public and private tendering processes, respecting deadlines and compliance requirements.
Develop comprehensive estimates by calculating all direct and indirect costs (materials, labor, equipment).
Perform quantity take-offs for key works and validate data provided by the team.
Prepare structured quantity summaries according to standardized sections and trades involved.
Participate in site visits to assess technical constraints and the complexity of the work to be estimated.
Research and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors following the analysis of bid documents.
Manage invitations to subcontractors, transmit relevant documents, and grant access to the virtual plan room.
Verify the compliance of subcontractor bids against project requirements during bid closing.
Maintain regular contact with the supplier and subcontractor database to nurture a solid business network.
Contribute strategically to optimize project profitability and assist Project Managers as needed.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: DEC in Architecture or Estimation, or a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Architecture.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction estimation.
Sector: Experience in Commercial, Institutional, and Heavy Residential sectors in Quebec.
Languages: Bilingual (French and English).
