Responsibilities
End-to-End Strategic Sourcing & Execution
- Deal Leadership: Lead the end-to-end sourcing process for complex, high-visibility technology deals with a Total Contract Value (TCV) exceeding $5M, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide financial objectives.
- Negotiation Strategy: Independently coordinate and conduct sophisticated commercial and legal negotiations; develop methodologies to capture savings and manage value-driven outcomes.
- Contract Authoring: Draft, review, and edit complex supplier contracts and amendments, ensuring all legal and business terms protect the organization’s interests while minimizing risk.
- Proposal Evaluation: Manage the full RFP (Request for Proposal) lifecycle, including the development of evaluation criteria, scoring models, and final vendor selection recommendations for senior leadership.
Strategic Planning & Market Intelligence
- Category Playbooks: Gather and analyze internal spend data and external market intelligence to create strategic "playbooks" for various technology business models (SaaS, Cloud, AI, Professional Services).
- Opportunity Assessment: Proactively identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities through deep-dive spend analysis and knowledge of upcoming business unit needs.
- Market Research: Monitor global supply market conditions and industry trends to advise senior management on potential risks, alternative suppliers, and disruptive technologies (e.g., AI providers).
Relationship & Stakeholder Management
- Executive Influence: Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and business partners, guiding them through high-risk sourcing initiatives and securing buy-in for contentious or complex decisions.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key technology vendors, holding them accountable to KPIs and service levels while driving continuous improvement.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams (Legal, Risk, Finance, IT) to ensure sourcing activities are integrated and compliant with all corporate standards.
Governance, Risk, and Financial Oversight
- Financial Accountability: Deliver on individual cost-reduction targets of $5M and contribute to team-wide savings goals of $25M through rigorous negotiation and demand management.
- Risk Mitigation: Support the development and adherence to financial, fraud-prevention, and risk management controls throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- KPI Reporting: Analyze and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive insights into business trends, measuring the effectiveness of sourcing strategies and supplier performance.
Leadership and Continuous Improvement
- Mentorship: Provide coaching and professional development to junior team members, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with the global leadership model.
- Process Excellence: Contribute to the development of standardized global tools, templates, and best practices to improve procurement efficiency and standardization.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 10 years of dedicated procurement sourcing experience (specifically sourcing, not general purchasing).
Domain Expertise: At least 5 years of specialized experience in Technology Sourcing with a proven track record of leading deals over $5M TCV.
Technical Skills: Mastery of Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential; experience with Ivalua is a strong asset.
Education: Post-secondary degree in Finance or a related field; a formal Procurement Designation is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: Exceptional impact and influence, strong business/financial acumen, and the ability to negotiate complex legal and commercial terms independently.
