Responsibilities
-Oversee all financial management activities of the Foundation, ensuring regulatory and accounting compliance.
-Manage the Foundation Finance System, ensuring accurate reporting and robust internal controls.
-Prepare financial statements, contribution reconciliations, and cashflow forecasts.
-Create board packages, financial reports, and speaking notes for executive meetings.
-Support the Treasurer and Finance Committee in fulfilling fiduciary responsibilities.
-Lead the development and execution of finance policies and long-term strategic planning.
-Collaborate with auditors and tax counsel to ensure smooth audit and filing processes.
-Monitor investments, evaluate impact forecasts, and provide actionable insights to leadership.
-Mentor team members and champion cross-functional collaboration.
-Mitigate financial risks through compliance monitoring and proactive risk management.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
-7+ years of experience in financial management.
-3+ years of financial management experience within a Canadian nonprofit organization.
-5+ years of proficiency with nonprofit financial software and Microsoft Excel.
-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Nice to Have:
-CPA or equivalent professional designation.
Soft Skills:
-Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Results-oriented mindset.
-Collaborative and adaptable with excellent interpersonal skills.
