Responsibilities
Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs): Lead end-to-end Privacy Impact Assessments for web, cloud, API integrations, and mobile solutions handling personal and health-related information.
Decentralized & Mobile Identity Governance: Evaluate privacy risks associated with self-sovereign identity (SSI) models, digital wallets, verifiable credentials, selective disclosure, and zero-knowledge proofs.
Legislative & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure digital solutions and data flows strictly comply with applicable privacy legislation (such as FIPPA, MFIPPA, PHIPA, and PIPEDA) and organizational directives.
Threat Modeling & Data Flow Analysis: Map architectural data flows, state transition diagrams, and business process models to uncover privacy vulnerabilities across legacy, cloud, and third-party integrations.
Consent & Data Governance Frameworks: Design conceptual and logical models for consent management, develop privacy-enhancing tools, and define data governance architectures.
Policy Advisory & Collaboration: Work closely with legal counsel, policy development teams, and system architects to recommend statutory instruments, privacy controls, and record-keeping practices.
Reporting & Executive Engagement: Create detailed PIA reports, risk mitigation registers, and executive presentations to communicate complex technical privacy risks to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Decentralized Identity & SSI Expertise: Demonstrated experience with credential holder-centric ecosystems (decentralized identity/SSI models), supporting platforms, and digital wallet technologies (Strictly Required).
Digital & Mobile Privacy Assessments: Proven track record leading privacy assessments for online and mobile digital solutions handling personal and health-related information (Strictly Required).
Encryption & API Security Alignment: Solid background in evaluating strong security, encryption, and privacy protection approaches across mobile, web, and backend API integrations (Strictly Required).
Zero-Knowledge & Privacy Controls: Hands-on experience with decentralized credential systems and technologies that protect holder privacy through selective disclosure and zero-knowledge proofs (Strictly Required).
Statutory Privacy Frameworks: Expert knowledge of public and health sector privacy legislation (including FIPPA, PHIPA, PIPEDA) and international trust frameworks (e.g., PCTF, W3C standards, NIST).
Nice-to-Have Assets:
Prior public sector privacy assessment experience.
Active security clearance.
Professional certifications in IT security, privacy, or enterprise architecture (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPT).
