In this senior technical and analytical role, you will serve as the principal configuration authority and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for global Workday Benefits and core HCM systems. You will bridge the gap between human resources business lines and technical engineering squads—translating complex organizational policies into automated, high-performing system configurations. Responsibilities
System Configuration & Technical Execution
Advanced Module Configuration: Configure, test, and maintain global Workday Benefits structures, including benefit groups, insurance/savings plans, automated eligibility rules, passive events, and system business processes (BPs).
Data Load & Integration Engineering: Design, build, and deploy high-fidelity Enterprise Interface Builders (EIBs) for mass data extractions and inbound uploads.
Advanced Reporting Architecture: Code and construct highly complex Calculated Fields and author advanced, multi-dimensional matrix reports using Workday Report Writer.
Root-Cause Diagnostics: Perform senior-level root-cause analysis, system auditing, and troubleshooting to resolve complex benefits-related platform defects and data discrepancies.
Lifecycle Management, Compliance & Support
Open Enrollment Leadership: Program-manage and execute end-to-end technical workflows for annual Open Enrollment cycles across both union and non-union global employee networks.
Quality Assurance & Verification: Plan, document, and execute rigorous developer unit testing and regression testing validations.
Governance & Change Control: Ensure all technical system alterations strictly adhere to organizational change management protocols, data governance policies, and rigorous external regulatory frameworks (including COBRA, ACA, and ERISA).
Stakeholder Synthesis: Translate abstract human resource business requirements into high-fidelity functional specifications, communicating complex computing logic into simplified prose for non-technical partners.
Qualifications
Experience: 6+ years of progressive professional experience operating as a Senior Business Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or Systems Engineer within enterprise HR technology landscapes.
Workday Architecture Expertise: Expert-level, referenceable configuration knowledge spanning Workday Benefits and Workday HCM modules.
Advanced Core Tool Stack: Demonstrated mastery building inbound/outbound EIBs, managing data models via Report Writer, and nesting multi-layered Calculated Fields.
Regulatory Compliance Acuity: Comprehensive working knowledge of North American benefits legislative frameworks and compliance standards, specifically including COBRA, ACA, and ERISA.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent practical enterprise technical experience.
Soft Skills: Outstanding presentation, facilitation, and cross-functional collaboration skills; an analytical self-starter who exhibits strict attention to detail and can communicate technical architecture choices clearly to multi-disciplinary squads.
