Responsibilities
End-to-End Adjudication: Manage the complete processing and approval of mortgage applications submitted by origination partners.
Autonomous Decision-Making: Use your designated discretionary authority to approve, decline, or offer alternatives quickly and decisively.
Risk & Due Diligence: Conduct in-depth due diligence on credit files and income documentation (including anti-money laundering standards).
External Coordination: Manage the process for obtaining Mortgage Insurer approval and reviewing appraisals for conventional loans.
Partner Communication: Clearly communicate lending policies to channel partners to ensure efficient and accurate file submissions.
Qualifications
Bilingualism is Essential: Advanced proficiency in French and English (verbal and written) is required for frequent communication across Canada.
Experience: A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of lender mortgage underwriting experience.
Credit Authority: Proven track record in residential mortgage underwriting with prior credit authority limits (must be provided).
Expert Knowledge: Sound knowledge of credit and underwriting practices, lending products, including prime, alternative, draw, and construction financing.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, exceptional decision-making abilities, initiative, good judgment, results-orientation, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
