Responsibilities
-Lead revenue accounting for Canadian operations in alignment with US GAAP and ASC 606
-Manage the accounting for revenue-generating projects and provide monthly reports, commentaries, and variance analysis to senior leadership
-Oversee sales contract reviews and advise on accounting implications for new opportunities
-Review and approve monthly commission payments
-Support FP&A with forecasting, budgeting, and material contract reviews
-Manage customer invoices and authorization workflows
-Drive rebate and royalty accounting processes
-Provide guidance on revenue recognition, rebates, discounts, and other accounting treatments
-Participate in multi-functional business initiatives and process improvements
Qualifications
Must-Haves
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
-Professional accounting designation: CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
-5+ years of management accounting experience, preferably in a mid to large organization
-In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition)
-Proven experience with foreign currency accounting
-Demonstrated ability to review and interpret complex, multi-element contracts and master agreements
-Proficiency in Oracle Financials
-Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling
Nice-to-Haves
-Experience working for a global corporation
-Background in collaborating with an offshore shared service center
-Working knowledge of Hyperion and Essbase
-Exposure to the rebates and royalties accounting process
-Familiarity with commission structures and sales operations accounting
